TESOL & Multilingual Studies Expert Dr. Julie Choi to speak at MECA
Dr. Julie Choi will speak on “Creating a Multivocal Self” on Saturday, August 19th from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm in Room 211 A of the Anaheim Convention Center. In addition, she will co-present “Blended Language Learning” with former TESOL International President Dr. David Nunan in Sunday, August 20th from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm in Room 211 A.
Dr. Julie Choi is a Lecturer in Education (Additional Languages) at the University of Melbourne’s Graduate School of Education. Her teaching expertise focuses on professional development, particularly in the area of TESOL teacher education. Her research publications focus on sociolinguistics, cross-cultural communication, plurilingual studies, and reflective/reflexive academic writing using (auto) ethnographic approaches. She is the author of “Creating a Multivocal Self Autoethnography as Method” and co-editor of the book “Language and Culture: Reflective Narratives and the Emergence of Identity.” Julie Choi received her Doctorate in Education from the The University of Technology, Sydney in the area of Multilingual Studies and her M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Anaheim University.
