Teachers Making a Difference: The Good, the Bad, and the Memorable
Many of the people attending this conference are teachers or have been teachers. But it is safe to say that all of us have been taught by teachers – some good and some not so good. In this interactive presentation we will consider the retrospections of a number of teachers who had been deemed outstanding by their student. These teachers were asked if a teacher had inspired them, and if so, what that person had done. They were also asked if a teacher had discouraged or humiliated them, and if so, how. From the retelling of their experiences we can learn about a few of the factors that influenced these excellent teachers, and speculate on how we may be making a difference in the lives of our students today.
