Antonia P. Olivas, Ed.D. California State University San Marcos Education & Sociology Librarian

Antonia P. Olivas is the Education & Sociology Librarian at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) where she is also an adjunct professor in the School of Education. She earned a bachelorʼs degree in Secondary Education from Arizona State University West, a masterʼs degree in Library & Information Science from the University of Arizona, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the joint doctoral program of CSUSM and University of California San Diego. Dr. Olivasʼ dissertation is on the motivation to lead of underrepresented minority academic librarians in higher education. Her current published research and conference presentations focus on the intersectionality of culture, identity, and agency in academic libraries, the motivations of underrepresented minority librarians, developing student scholar mind-sets in Latino undergraduate students, and cultural intelligence in the higher education classroom.
